Potter Valley Health Center Executive Director
Jeff King is the Executive Director of the Potter Valley Community Health Clinic. King, a Potter Valley resident for the past decade, brings with him a wealth of business management experience, both in the public and private sector. King has worked as the business manager for Waldorf Schools in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties; in production, marketing and computer services for the private sector; and most recently, information technology for the City of Ukiah. In addition, King has developed proprietary software for wineries and vineyards that assists these businesses in managing wine production and sales.
King grew up in Yellowstone Park in Montana and joined the Navy as a young man in the 1970's. Having spent most of his life in rural regions of the country, King is deeply familiar with the joys and challenges inherent in living and working in rural communities.
Jeff King served as a member of the Board of Directors of Potter Valley Community Health Center from 1998 to 2006. "I was drawn to this new job because of my desire to work closely with our community in addressing our health care needs. I really enjoy working for an organization whose primary mission is to help people in need. We have an excellent staff of medical and dental providers, wonderful support staff, and a great Board of Directors."
People driving by the health center in recent months may notice a large parking lot next door to the clinic that used to house the old Grange and Potter Valley Store. "Our plan is to grow and expand the clinic, especially our medical services," explains King, "and we need more space to do that. We purchased the old Grange building, demolished it with the help of the County, and we are beginning our plans to build. This is an exciting project for our staff and our Board of Directors, and we're looking forward to working with the community to develop a functional space that meets the needs of the community."
