Potter Valley Community Health Center

Potter Valley Community Health Center is a full-service health center that opened in 1982. The health center offers a wide range of dental and medical services to the community, regardless of their ability to pay. The center provides services to over 3,200 patients a year through 14,000 patient visits. The center employs 27 people, including a full-time dentist, a full-time nurse practitioner, and several part-time dentists and physicians. Potter Valley Community Health Center is a member of the Alliance for Rural Community Health, a network of health center organizations throughout Mendocino County.

Last year, we purchased the old Grange building, demolished it with the help of the County, and we are beginning our plans to build. Our plan is to grow and expand the clinic, especially our medical services. This is an exciting project for our staff and our Board of Directors, and we're looking forward to working with the community to develop a functional space that meets the needs of the community.

We are now leasing a house down the street from the clinic where our administrative staff is located. It is a very functional space and has given us added room for staff and board of directors meetings. With the freed up space in the existing clinic, we remodeled the clinic to improve patient flow between the dental and medical departments. We now have a new dental lab and x-ray area, new patient bathroom, and 2 additional medical exam rooms. We have also added new carpet and paint along with a colorful mural on the front lobby wall. These changes have increased our ability to handle more medical patients.

The clinical and dental staff is proud of their reputation of providing a comfortable and professional atmosphere for the patients they work with. We are open Monday through Friday and on many Saturdays. We invite you to visit and think of the Potter Valley Community Health Center as a medical and dental facility for all the people of the community.
